Abstract: A Cook off test is a significant assessment item for evaluating the safety of explosive charge. At present, the research focus is to study the response characteristics of the burning process of explosive charge so as to guide the engineering design. This paper summarizes and analyzes the relevant researches at home and abroad from the aspects of explosive charge size, length diameter ratio, shell material/thickness, pressure relief structure, physical interface and free space. The analysis results show that there are key problems to be solved in the future, such as the large difference between the structure of a reduced scale projectile and that of a real one, few measured parameters in the test, and difficulties in predicting a full scale real projectile from small scale test results.
