In order to fully exploit the potential of micro textured cutters to improve their performance of cutting titanium alloys, this paper firstly studies the influence of the characteristic parameters of Elliptic Opening Offset Parabola Micro Texture (EOOPT) on the cutting performance based on the response surface test method, with cemented carbide tools cutting titanium alloys as the research objects. Secondly, the multi objective parameter optimization is carried out through neural network and genetic algorithm. Finally, the relative cutting performance of the EOOPT cutters with the optimal texture parameters and the prototype cutters under the same cutting conditions is compared and analyzed. The results show that, compared with the prototype cutters, the maximum temperature, the maximum stress and the average value of the main cutting force of the EOOPT cutters with the optimal parameters reduce by 11.24%, 15.48% and 10.81% respectively, which has a positive effect on improving process quality of titanium alloy parts, increasing cutter life and reducing cutter production cost. |
