Study on soft recovery of high overload magazines

Abstract: In order to ensure that the structure and subsystems of gun launched guided ammunition meet the requirements of high overload resistance, reduce the number of experiments and shorten the development cycle, this paper carries out the flow field simulation and data analysis of the magazine recovery system. One part of the air damping generated from the movement of the magazine in a recovery pipe with the same caliber provides reverse overload and, at the same time, the other part transmits in the return pipe so that the magazine decelerates and moves in the reverse direction, and vibrates back and forth for 3~4 times in the recovery pipe. According to the results of the flow field simulation, the pre inflated gas pressure, the mass of the magazine and the diameter of the return pipe all affect the reverse overload and recovery state of the recovery process, which provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent design of the soft recovery experimental platform.
