As the main shock absorber of a vehicle suspension, an air spring goes through a gradual decline in its safety and reliability due to the aging of its rubber airbag caused in its service under complex environmental conditions. The aging mechanism of an air spring rubber cord airbag is studied by multiple means of hot air accelerated aging tests. During the aging process, the hardness of samples can be divided into two stages: The growth rate of the first stage is 0.42 IRHD·h -1 , and that of the second stage is 0042 IRHD·h -1 , which is one tenth of the first stage. The change of elastic modulus obeys the growth form of exponential functions, and is related to the hardness of the samples in forms of exponential functions. |
