To solve the problems of complex form and difficult design of the working profile surface of a globoidal indexing cam, this paper proposes a method of constructing the cam surface by means of motion simulation technology. According to the conjugate contact state between the cam and the indexing plate, a mathematical model of the working profile surface is established. Based on this, the conjugate motion law and basic structure parameters of the cam mechanism are determined. The working profile surface is then obtained through the reverse design of the motion state of the indexing plate. Besides, simulations are carried out to output angular displacement, angular velocity and angular acceleration of the indexing plate to verify the accuracy of the surface. The results show that the working profile surface of the globoidal indexing cam obtained through the reverse design based on the motion simulation can achieve the expected motion rules. It can significantly improve the design efficiency, and bring great convenience to the construction of the complex sectional surface. |
