Abstract: Aiming at the problems of large ineffective space and low energy density of combustible cartridges caused by the free filling of traditional modular charges, this paper proposes to change the existing free loading method into sequential loading, and uses two different particle sizes of propellants to be loaded in combination. It also optimizes the sequential loading layout to increase the charge so as to achieve the purpose of improving the internal ballistic performance of the artillery. A mathematical model based on modular charge sequence loading is then established. Considering the size constraint of the combustible cartridge, combined with the interior ballistic calculation model, the optimal sequence loading method is solved by an improved genetic algorithm to achieve the optimization of interior ballistic performance. With a 45 time caliber 155 mm artillery as an example, the effectiveness of the proposed method in this paper is verified by simulation analysis.
