Investigation on design of pipe optimization design and fatigue life

Abstract: A metal hose with large compensation wasdesigned to replace the original hard pipe part of the pipe for the optimization of low temperature pipes.The influence of hard tube and metal hose on the vibration fatigue life of the pipe was studied. Finite element models of two structural were established using ABAQUS. The fluid inside the pipe was simulated by liquid acoustic unit, and the displacement, low temperature, high pressure and random vibration loads were applied. The statics and dynamic characteristics of the pipe under the two structures were calculated respectively, and the simulation and test results of the pipe with metal hose were compared. The results indicate that the static stress and fatigue life of metal hose pipes with the same diameter can meet the usage requirements, and the optimized design scheme of replacing hard pipes with metal hoses is reasonable and feasible. Meanwhile, due to the strong compensation ability of metal hoses and their ability to initially stretch or compress during the pipe assembly process, it will become a major trend in the design of medium diameter pipes in the future.
