Abstract: Through the research on laser weapon and its standardization aboard, it is found that advanced countries in the world, such as the United States, Russia, Germany, Israel, and the United Kingdom, have successfully conducted laser weapon tests on different platforms, such as aircraft, vehicles, ships, and even space platforms. Low power laser weapons have been put into use, mainly for non lethal interference and blinding of close range photoelectric sensors, as well as for attacking the human eye and some enhanced observation equipment. According to the current level of technological development, high energy laser weapons are expected to be deployed and used on the ground, ships, air, and even satellite platforms in the future, for tactical air defense, theater anti missile, and antisatellite operations. A large number of standards have been established in the fields of lasers, laser devices, laser safety, and lasers abroad, and a series of laser weapon standard systems have been established, including confidentiality management, security design, and security testing. It is recommended that China concentrate its industry advantages and accelerate the development of high power tactical laser weapons on land, sea, air, and space based platforms. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to foreign laser weapon standards, conduct preliminary research on laser weapons and key components standards, and standardize the design and manufacturing of laser weapons in China.
