Abstract: In order to study the damage effect of explosive load on concrete with different aggregate sizes, in this paper, the numerical simulation of concrete with five aggregate sizes (10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm and 50 mm) is carried out by random aggregate placement. ABAQUS software is used for aggregate placement, and then LS DYNA is used to simulate the concrete cylinders with different aggregate sizes under explosion load. At the same time, the numerical simulation model is verified by the damage test of reinforced concrete beams. Furthermore, the influence of aggregate size on the damage effect of concrete target plate is studied. The results show that when the compressive strength of concrete is consistent and the concrete target plate is broken, the damage resistance of concrete increases first and then decreases with the increase of aggregate size. When the aggregate size is 30 mm, the concrete has the strongest anti damage ability.
