Abstract: In order to study the influence of the impact position of foreign object damage on the fatigue limit of the aero engine blade, based on the drop weight impact test system, two kinds of foreign object damage tests are carried out on the TC4 titanium alloy blade simulation specimens: edge impact and face centered impact. On this basis, the vibration fatigue tests of the notched specimen and the smooth specimen are carried out respectively, and the geometric characteristics of the notched specimen of the damaged specimen are obtained, and the vibration fatigue limit of TC4 blade under different impact positions is obtained. The results show that the gap width, depth and volume caused by the face centered impact are greater than those caused by the edge impact, with the average gap volume is 46.7% larger. The fatigue crack of the smooth specimen appears at the neck of the specimen, and the external damage gap is generated at the notch. The edge impact causes the blade vibration fatigue limit to be reduced to a greater extent than the face centered impact. Compared with smooth specimen, the fatigue strength of edge impact decreases by 55.8%, and the fatigue strength of face centered impact decreases by 35.1%.
