A review on the take off method of UAVs based on their different power sources

Abstract: The take off mode of UAV is a key factor in combat, which determines the flexibility, mobility and efficiency of UAV combat.With the development of science and technology, the take off method of UAVs has developed from the initial taxiing take off to a variety of take off methods today. After studying the UAV take off method, according to the different power sources, the take off method of UAVs is divided into four categories: expansion force generated by potential energy as power source, electromagnetic force as power source, gas recoil force as power source, and human power as power source. The working principle, advantages and disadvantages of each UAVs take off methods are explained in detail and the corresponding UAV models are also listed. The introduced UAV take off methods are compared in tabular form, and the developing trend of UAVs take off technology is prospected.
