In order to study the influence of high temperature environment on the ballistic performance of the ballistic insert plate, M80 (7.62 mm×51 mm NATO) was used to carry out live firing tests on bullet proof inserts at room temperature and high temperature (55 ℃) respectively. The reasons for the change of ballistic performance at high temperature were studied by analyzing the instant dent value of bullet hit during the test and combining with the test results of stripping strength of polyurethane resin, stripping strength and bending strength of UHMWPE fiber laminates. The results show that the ballistic performance of the ballistic insert plate decreases significantly at high temperature. The instant dent value of bullet hit of each bullet increases by 2~5 mm compared with that at room temperature. The main reason is that the deformation resistance of UHMWPE fiber laminate under high temperature decreases significantly, which leads to the increase of the instant dent value of bullet hit. |
