Abstract: In order to further explore the development potential of cobalt sulfide (CoS) materials in the field of electromagnetic wave absorption, and provide reference for the subsequent preparation of CoS based multi element composites, spherical, nanoparticle and flower shaped CoS materials were prepared by solvothermal method. The microscopic morphology, phase structure and wave absorption properties of the three kinds of CoS materials were characterized and analyzed. The results show that, compared with the nanoparticles and flowers, the spherical CoS has a more complex 3D porous structure and exhibits good impedance matching, which is more conducive to realizing multiple scattering consumption of incident electromagnetic waves. When the doping amount is both 40wt%, the minimum reflection loss of spherical CoS is -44.59 dB, the maximum effective absorption bandwidth is 3.6 GHz, and the corresponding matching thickness is 1.5 mm. The study of the wave absorbing properties of three kinds of CoS materials with different morphologies provides a good reference for the subsequent preparation of new and efficient CoS based multi element composite wave absorbing materials.
