In the industrial field of metal nondestructive testing, there are often some complex defects that are difficult to detect using conventional testing methods. In order to optimize the probe structure, a modular eddy current flaw detection system was designed and developed by introducing the modular concept into eddy current flaw detection. The eddy current flaw detection system combined the existing mutual inductance probe structure with the bridge probe structure, and utilized the respective advantages of the two structures. It took the induced voltage value on the probe coil as the characteristic quantity of defect detection, and transmitted the data to the upper computer built with LabVIEW software through the single chip computer for feature display. The test results of the system show that the system can detect the difference between the induced voltage value generated at the defect location and the induced voltage value at the defect free location, which verifies the feasibility of the design. It has high sensitivity detection of metal surface defects, and realizes the purpose of effectively judging the defect location of metal materials. |
