Abstract: High voltage discharge of plasma under oxygen enrichment can produce high concentration active gas. In order to improve the treatment ratio of hydrazine propellant wastewater, a plasma induced ozone technique was introduced and its application in hydrazine oxidation was explored. Result shows the oxidation rate of refractory intermediate product (formaldehyde) increased under ultraviolet irradiation. Regulatory requirements of wastewater can be meet to unsymmetrical dimethyl hydrazine (UDMH) and DT 3 propellant wastewater in the mass rates of ozone/UDMH=5 and ozone/DT 3=3, respectively. Considering the actual situation of the satellite launch center, the plasma induced ozone technique was applied in propellant wastewater treatment via moving vehicle mode. Practical operation in different types and concentrations of propellant wastewater indicated that the propellant wastewater treatment vehicle gains better flexibility and effectiveness cost ratio.
